Metacognition & Mindfulness
Our approach to cognitive therapy focuses on building one's awareness of their own thinking in the present moment through metacognition and mindfulness. These strategies help us reflect on our actions and tune into the present to help our brains function to the best of their ability.

Metacognition is the ability to think about your own thinking. It's the ability to take a birds-eye view of yourself in a situation and perhaps ask, "How am I doing?" or "How did I do?"
Mindfulness is the ability to be fully present and acknowledge your feelings and attitudes without judgment.

Cognitive SLP combines metacognition and mindfulness to help clients develop strong self-awareness and self-reflection skills, two key executive function skills.

Our individualized online sessions provide:
-
Education on mind-body wellness
-
Mindfulness practices
-
Self-reflection activities
-
Mindset coaching
-

-
Family counseling and coaching
Our goal is to teach you how to observe and reflect on your own thoughts and beliefs, especially around your thinking and learning. We will practice incorporating these reflections to better understand how you can improve each time you set out to accomplish a task.
Incorporating mindfulness practices helps to reduce mental stress and increase focus to maximize learning across life situations and tasks.

"Jenny was so kind, calm, and patient. She understood the energy and attention our child needed. She let our child direct what activities they would do, yet it was obvious
she always had a plan."

What Clients Are Saying
"Jenny always gave 200% to our sessions. She could pivot quickly. She'd research anything that might help, make sessions more fun, adaptive, better. So while that is more than one thing, I could sum it up by saying that my favorite part of working with Jenny was her willingness
to go all in.

"I always felt confident that we were with the best fit for our issues, but I can assuredly say Jenny can help with ANY issue. I fully trusted her guidance and expertise. To me, there is no other."
